Refreshing Cantaloupe Juice
In the heat of summer there is nothing more refreshing to eat than melons. Being made up of mostly water they are super hydrating and refreshing, and they really quench my thirst. I recently gave you guys my all time favorite watermelon juice secret, but this one comes pretty close I have to say.
On the hot summer days I usually have melons for breakfast. I eat a whole cantaloupe or medium size watermelon as a meal, whether just cutting them up and enjoy the juicy, sweet chunks of deliciousness in my mouth or making a refreshing blended juice with some ice. If you are not used to it at first it is quite filling because of all the water content but just pour it into a large mason jar or BPA free plastic bottle and bring it with you for the morning and sip it slowly. As your stomach gets used to it you’ll find that it really leaves you feeling satisfied without that heavy feeling after a big breakfast. When you start the morning out with juicy fruit that is so easily digested it leaves all that extra energy to focus clearly on your tasks at hand instead of feeling that mental fog or sluggishness.
Cantaloupe Health Benefits
– Cantaloupe is an excellent source of vitamin A. Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant and is essential for healthy eyesight.
– It is rich in the antioxidant flavonoids beta-carotene and lutein which help protect cells from free radicals and protect against many cancers.
– Cantaloupe is a good source of potassium which is important for maintaining a normal heart rate and blood pressure levels.
Cantaloupe Juice:
1 Large cantaloupe
1 Cup ice
1 small chunk of ginger
A few mint leaves

Melons have a cooling effect on the body so there is no better refreshing summer drink. Ditch the soda’s or Gatorade and blend a delicious melon that is hydrating and filled with natural vital nutrients with no artificial colors or dyes or chemicals.
