Lately there are more and more people talking about raw food diets and its amazing benefits, but not a lot has been explained about why cooked foods are so inferior to raw, fresh foods. The damage done to food when cooked can really be an entire chapter in itself, but I will explain just two for today. Every day this week I will be sharing a new reason.
First it is important to understand that health is maintained ONLY if our bodies have the complete nutrients needed in their proper proportion. Cooking, however, destroys these precious nutrients needed resulting in imbalances in the body. This is one of the reasons people tend to over eat on cooked food, their stomachs feel full but their cells crave nutrients and remain nutritionally starved. Cooked food is a direct cause and effect of obesity.
Cooked food is also a direct cause and effect of cancer. The destruction of nutrients creates toxic waste products. These are created from the high temperatures, which actually alters molecular shape, size, and chemical potential of these nutrients. This results in an accumulation of indigestible and harmful substances, residues and debris. These chemical byproducts generated from cooking are toxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic and create free radicals, ultimately poisoning our system! We are basically eating ourselves to poor health and to death!
Why not start today by replacing just one cooked meal a day with a raw food meal. You can try ripe, juicy fruit salad or fruit smoothie for breakfast, or a large green salad filled with a ton of fresh vegetables that leave you feeling so good after! Try it you might just LOVE it!!
