Glowing health is more than just eating raw foods. It encompasses many aspects of health, including a chemical-free home environment. When I started my journey in healing my fibromyalgia naturally, I learned that the indoor pollution (from the chemicals in our home) is actually 90% worse than outdoor pollution. I immediately went through my cabinets and threw out any cleaning chemicals and began replacing them with natural chemical-free methods. Breathing in the chemicals that are in our homes can adversely affect our health. With fibromyalgia we have enough to combat against trying to feel well every day I don’t want to add chemicals to it, to make my body fight that much harder.
Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons shared a grim study on the danger of chemicals in the home: “Women who work at home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than women working away from the home.” A 15 year study concluded that it is directly linked to the toxic household chemicals in the home. WOW!! Enough said, right?Recently I started using these e-cloths that were sent to me to try. The e-cloth is a chemical-free cleaning process that’s so incredibly simple to use and yet so effective! All you need is the e-cloth and water. It’s even proven to remove 99% of bacteria including E. Coli! I was excited to learn of such an earth-friendly simple cleaning method, but leery at the same time. I mean how can a cloth and water clean so hygienically?
What I learned is that it’s all about the microfiber density that makes the cloths works so well. E-cloths have more
than 1.6 Million fibers per inch. Why are fibers important? Dirt, oil, grease, grime and even bacteria are
attracted to and trapped by the fibers –so the more fibers you have the better the cloth works. So basically each little fiber reaches out and grabs everything on the surface. Chemicals are just not needed to achieve a hygienic and sparkling finish!
Speaking of sparkling finish, I really have to say I was amazed at how sparkly and shiny my countertops, surfaces and faucets looked after using these cloths. With just water and a regular cloth they never have shined before. I like to add a couple of drops of lemon essential oil as I’m wiping it down just to give it that refreshing, clean smell. After cleaning I simply rinse the cloth well with warm water and it’s like new! In fact, you can even throw it into the washing machine and it’s guaranteed for up to 300 washes. This is all I use now to clean my countertops. Oh and just a little extra perk, they’re color coordinated for each room they clean which I love! So each cloth is made specifically for each cleaning need.
For the mirrors I use another e-cloth, specifically for glass surfaces, spray with cleaning water, wipe and you’re done! It comes out beautifully streak free. Think of how many paper towels, wipes, spray can and bottles that’ll keep out of our land fills. If we all did our part what a difference it would make for our beautiful earth. Please do your part and recycle and reuse when possible, you can make a difference!
These cloths have totally changed my way of cleaning and so wonderfully simplified it. By the way, I’m not by any means endorsed by the company. I just love sharing my passion for chemical-free, earth-friendly living and am a reusing, recycling freak! When I come across awesome products I love to share them with you in hopes that you too can benefit.
What about you? Do you have any tips you’d like to share on how to clean chemical-free? Share in the comments below!
These sound wonderful. Thanks for sharing! I went through a learning period about toxins in cleaning products and indoor air when I was first recovering from chronic illness. Indoor air quality can be so horrible, and it gets really cold where I live so keeping the windows open in the winter can be an invitation for the ice to start forming inside. Yikes! When it’s not below freezing, I love to have open windows, even a crack, and make sure that cleaning, beauty, and other products inside are as nontoxic as possible. I use vinegar, baking soda, tea tree oil, and the like to clean my house. I’ll have to check out these cloths!
My pleasure :). Wow that is COLD! Those are wonderful cleaners I use baking soda for EVERYTHING and it works amazing. I love the tea tree oil idea, I’ll have to check that out. Thanks so much for sharing Marissa!
Thanks for sharing this information. I going to try these!!
Oh wonderful I’m so glad. You’re going to love them! They’re such a pleasure to clean with and really help cut back on not only the chemicals but also the paper towels!I look forward to hearing how they work out for you. 🙂
I ‘m not sure if I have these cloths.I use to wipe kitchen counter, computer, glasses, iPad etc. etc.. I had them long time and they do great job. Are we talking the same thing?
Hi Lu, not sure if they’re the same thing but they are great on counter surfaces, and soft enough to use on glass. You can go to their website to see if they’re the same ones at http://www.ecloth.com.
