For those of you slowly transitioning over to the raw food diet, here are four ways to help you get the most out of your cooked food:
1. Length of time cooking – lightly steam the vegetables to the point where they are still crunchy, instead of frying them.
2. Setting of the temperature – temperatures over 120 degrees destroys the food, so instead of using a high flame or high oven temperature use lower temperatures of longer cooking time.
3. Use high quality cookware – stainless steel, or ceramic cookware which is non-toxic, is preferred.
4. Whole food keeps the nutrients more intact-themore a food is chooped, shredded or diced, etc. the more the nutrients are lost.
Remember though, that the bulk of our diet should consist of raw, unprocessed, organic fruits and vegetables.
I promise you that once you start to experience the AMAZING health benefits from such foods, you will have less and less desire to cook your foods!
